Our public school is an urban campus located in a predominantly Hispanic community. The majority of my second grade students are English language learners who face the daily challenge of listening, speaking, reading, and writing in English as their second language. In addition, they all are from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds. With all those challenges, my students are motivated and fearless seekers of knowledge.
