With a school full of culturally diverse students, my students recently voiced that they do not feel all cultures are represented in our school materials. I know how important multicultural education is and how instrumental the use of culturally diverse materials in the classroom is for students to feel seen, heard, and accepted. I am very passionate about bringing a diverse student library into my classroom where students can feel represented and celebrated for who they are and where they come from. I strongly believe that a culturally diverse library will help my students find themselves in these stories and gain confidence in who they are.
