The materials will be used by students in grades K-5 to construct a building to learn about shapes, measure in both customary and metric measurements and when appropriate calculate area and measurements. Additionally, students will be provided with an authentic experience to construct which includes items where students to create a geometric piece with symmetry and reflection. They will be allowed to construct homes, factors or community buildings. The decorative pom poms and other supplies to decorate will allow students the ability to show their knowledge on those topics. For example, students will create a building to measure that they can also create symmetry through the decorating process.
