Although it is my 4th year teaching, it is my 1st year here at Mayfair School! My seventh graders live in an extraodinarily diverse inner-city Philadelphia neighborhoods and attend our neighborhood school from Kindergarten - 8th grade. Last year, Mayfair School received its International Baccalaureate certification. As such, we emphasize on teaching the whole child through cross-curricular, real-world units of study. This means that learning at Mayfair focuses not only on what students learn, but also how they learn. The IB program is an approach that focuses on students and encourages reflection, service, and learning in context.
