My students come from homes that know little to no english. They come to school not knowing what a book is or what a nursery rhyme is. They are also in a title one school. We are in a small town that doesn't have many opportunities for them to see new things. Most have not been to a zoo, or museum, or even knowing what an exit sign means. I need to help my kinders to become the best they can and learn as much as they can in this first year of school.
