I currently teach at the Scholars' Academy. However, our school was recently hit hard by Hurricane Sandy and much of our inventory was lost including computers and laptops. We are currently teaching out of William Maxwell High School and are anxiously awaiting to return to our home. In the meantime, we have very few materials and virtually no technology. Yet, our students are making the most out of a challenging situation. I am lucky to work with an amazing team who are trying their hardest to teach at the same level even though we lack the resources that we are accustomed to. For that reason, many of us have signed up on donorschoose.org so that we can request materials for our amazing kids. We are so grateful for what we have already received but still need more technology in our classrooms. This technology will travel with us back to Scholars' once we are able to return. I thank you for your generosity!
