In the past I think that most teachers were taught one way to set up a classroom and we are learning that there are many more ways to innovate the classroom setting. Flexible seating is the best way to allow students to choose what suits their personal learning style and help them engage in their own learning. As adults, we do not typically choose a hard chair or desk to work at. Students feel more comfortable and are more engaged in their work when they have options in their seating. Students will be allowed to use Zenergy Ball chairs as a seating option to to help them learn best. We have several different options in our classroom already such as wheeled chairs, floor pillows, and wobble stools. Throughout the day students will be able to choose a seating option that will best help them learn. Many students choose to sit in different spots depending on the type of learning or content. This leads to a more positive learning environment for the class as a whole.
