My kindergarten classroom is filled with resilient, curious, and loving children who come to school ready to learn despite facing challenges far beyond their years. Many of my students come from low-income families in a community affected by the opioid crisis. Some experience food insecurity, unstable housing, or separation from loved ones due to addiction and hardship. Even through struggles most of us could never imagine, they arrive each day with bright smiles, kindness, and excitement for learning. Our classroom is more than a place to learn letters and numbers—it is a safe, welcoming space where children can feel supported, successful, and cared for. My goal is to provide a calm and organized environment where these incredible students can simply enjoy being children while learning and growing each day.
