The items in this project will enhance the social emotional learning I currently provide to K-5 students. With a focus on building empathy and emotional awareness, my project selections will help students learn important SEL skills in fun, relatable and engaging ways. My book selections help students understand different perspectives, cultures, and feelings and will be used to complement various SEL lessons I teach in the classrooms. My game selections will make it fun for my small group students to build important social skills during our group sessions and put them into practice. The feelings cushions will provide a cozy place for students to sit as well as encourage discussion around emotion awareness.
