We have new and exciting programs that will be implemented in our school such as Reading Ranger and myON. Reading Ranger is a reading incentive program that encourages students to read with the use of technology. myOn is a program that allows students to access books digitally which my classroom library alone could not do. These two programs will pair perfectly for a great reading program, improving students as readers. But with the lack of technology, students will have a challenging time using these program to its fullest. The students are ready to go, but unfortunately our technology is NOT! Currently my classroom only has 2 tablets to accommodate 32 students. By bringing 6 Kindle Fires into the classroom, students will be able to take full advantage of the above reading programs and more. For example, students will be able to use the tablet for research projects and math programs. Incorporating the Kindle Fire in our reading program will keep my students motivated, engaged, their learning individualized, and prepare them in today's technological world. Thank you!
