I developed a passion for teaching when I became passionate about students! I entered the classroom thinking love for reading was the most important thing, but students taught me that love for them came first. Many of my students have not been exposed to the world, other than through what they see on movies and television. Their lack of global awareness inspires and excites in them an awe and wonder when they see something new or different. As one who truly cares for students, I have tutored without pay, receive phone calls at home over homework, taught after school and weekends, and spent time and money on my kids. My heart goes out to them for not possessing some of the commodities other kids have, but it drives me all the more to instill in them a desire to learn, grow, create, inspire, and believe in themselves.
