At my school, we have children from all over the world! We have a large population of students who are on free and reduced lunch. Most of these students have never even seen a laptop before! It is my duty as an educator to show them this powerful tool that is used in the business world every day so that our students will be prepared for their future. We also have international students who come to us with zero English. There is an obvious disconnect with those students because they just don't understand me when I am teaching and talking. By using a laptop, our students will be able to use" translator type" applications to communicate with their English speaking peers and understand what I am teaching them! They will be able to research and compare ideas and even communicate via "skype" with students in other countries. Please, please, please consider funding our project.
