My students are a vivacious bunch of kids who deserve the same opportunities afforded to students attending schools in affluent communities. Our school serves a diverse population of students, many of whom come from high poverty backgrounds. Regardless of what obstacles my students face outside of school, they enter our class with smiles on their faces, ready to learn. I am continually inspired by their light, ability to rise above, and eagerness to step up to the plate.
