Our school serves a majority low-income population, and for many students school--and the library, in particular--is their sanctuary. Ideally, a sanctuary is not only safe but also aesthetically pleasing. Earlier this year I was fortunate enough to receive a significant product donation to replace all of the carpet in the 5,000-square-foot library of my Title I high school. Now I must do everything I can to protect the donation and keep the space clean and inviting for students. I need a vacuum cleaner! A sturdy vacuum cleaner will ensure that I can continue to foster a safe, clean, welcoming library environment for my students. A large percentage of my students depend on school for stability and respite from the obstacles they face in their lives outside of school. They deserve a sanctuary.
