I am a professional school counselor serving students in grades 2–5 through specials rotation classes, small groups, and individual counseling support. My counseling program uses arts integration to help students explore social-emotional learning in creative, meaningful, and developmentally appropriate ways. Students participate in projects that connect ASCA Mindsets and Behaviors with grade-level arts standards, including visual arts, music, dance, and drama. When appropriate, lessons also connect to classroom curriculum areas such as math, language arts, social studies, and science. During whole-group instruction, I support students as they create, collaborate, problem-solve, reflect, and build interpersonal and emotional skills. Through content-based arts-integrated projects, students are encouraged to better understand themselves, strengthen relationships, and develop skills they can use in school and beyond.
