My students are incredible boys and girls, who strive to do their best with what we have day in and day out. They live in a low socio-economic community, in neighborhoods where gangs, drugs, and crime are very much part of their lives. They are predominantly Latino and come from hard working families, who want their children to succeed academically, so that they grow up to be positive contributing members of society. Most all of my students will be first in their families to graduate high school and go on to college. I think it is important to stress that although my students face many adversities in their lives they are extremely motivated and high-achieving. In recognizing that technology is continuing to play a dominant roll in our society, I strive to expose them to its many forms in hopes of better preparing them for their future endeavors.
