My students come from a variety of backgrounds. I have some students who arrive in first grade knowing how to read, but the majority of my students come to me without knowing all of the Alphabet sounds. They are energetic and want to learn, but struggle to make sense of it all. I provide snacks to keep up our brain power. I have 10 out of 24 students who qualify for free or reduced lunch. Sometimes the school provides their only balanced meal during the day. The students want to be cared for and have a desire to learn. I just need to care for them and figure out how each individual learns best.
