Kids need to be comfortable while learning. Not all students like sitting in chairs at desks while participating in a lesson. In order to increase student focus, my students need to have seating that allows them to move a little, and be comfortable. My students will participate in class and be more engaged in learning when they are given more flexible seating options. Allowing students to sit comfortably and move a little while learning is proven to increase attentiveness. Student's bodies are not meant to sit still all day, or even for long periods of time. Their brains need blood flow in order to learn and grow. Students posture will also improve when given the ability to move their bodies while sitting, kneeling, or standing. Core stability discs, floor cushions, lap desks, and bouncy seats will help students have the ability to choose which style of seating helps them learn most. I want to give my students any advantage I can so they can be successful learners in my class.
