My school is a elementary school in a very diverse neighborhood. My students are from many different countries in the world. Many do not speak english. I have many classes with children who have special needs. Our school is a Title one school and our students receive free breakfast and 90% free lunch. It is hard at times to keep our children focused because of their disabilities and language. Many of our children do not get much exercise or outdoor play. Most live in apartment buildings and go to after school programs for homework help and have two working parents. Others go home with elderly grandparents and stay in their apartments. My class is an outlet for them.
