My classroom is made up of many English language learners. I have many languages and cultures represented in my room. Their families are originally from all around the world. My second graders love learning. My students are eager and bright workers. They especially love history and art. We are working hard to succeed at the common core curriculum. The rigor is high and students are working hard to learn new strategies and concepts. It's a nice compliment to my teaching when I have visuals or demonstration materials. When we have new or interesting equipment or supplies, the interest is high and students are actively engaged. I have a multi-level classroom, so differentiation is necessary. We have daily meetings with the teacher for small group instruction to learn comprehension skills. The equipment/resources/ teaching materials provided by Donors Choose donors are very helpful and appreciated.
