My school is a Title I school, located in a lower-socioeconomic area in Beaverton, OR. The majority of my students come from bilingual households, and are English language learners (ELLs). As a school, our goal is to focus on college and career readiness both academically and behaviorally. Our school provides a rigorous curriculum, wonderful, supportive teachers, and a safe learning environment for all kids. For many of my students, school is a place of consistency that allows them to foster their creativity and imagination. Despite the challenges they face inside and outside of the classroom, I am always trying to make a meaningful learning experience that piques their interests. They enjoy working together as a team and are actively seeking to improve, both academically and as people.
