With your help, the larger space actually feels more cozy, user friendly and accessible to all grade levels. \r\n\r\nThese are some ways the supplies are making a difference in the efficiency of the library. \r\n- Tissues and hand sanitizer are convenient and will last all year. \r\n- The clear boxes increase interest in book collections and the new books are flying out the door, students are really drawn to them. \r\n- Students are excited to play a role in keeping things tidy with the new floor sweeper.\r\n- The teaching tools are helping to make the shelving easier for all grade levels to see with laminated signs, clear bins, and more. \r\n- Library helpers can get a special treat for their work in the library. Older students are helping younger students find and check out books, tidy the space and work on special projects.\r\n\r\nI could not be more grateful for your support. The students and I were so excited the moment we saw the books arriving!\r\n\r\nEven though I am teaching 2nd grade, I have many students reading at a kindergarten level. I didn't have a large variety of targeted decodable books for those students who need that extra support. Many books can be very stressful and discouraging to these students. When the book is too difficult, they don't feel the success and motivation to read. When you are fortunate to have a variety of books that are decodable, students are able to read books that are actually at their level. This is very important to successful teach students to read. \r\n\r\nNow that I have a variety of fun and engaging good-fit books for these striving students, I've already noticed a difference.
