For students whose first language is Spanish, finding books to read can be a challenge. While they are working hard to learn English in their ESL classes, having books to read in a language they already understand can bridge that gap and make them feel more at ease in their environment. To further their English proficiency, they need access to books that they enjoy and make learning a new language less intimidating, such as comics and graphic novels. I would like to provide books that meet the needs of our students and that also honor their heritage.

About my class
