We are a school of hard working students, and many are from low income families. We have a huge population of immigrant families from Cambodia, Vietnam, China as well as Mexico. It's a smallish school in a big city built before the Great Depression with no auditorium, so our assemblies are held in the basement gym which has terrible acoustics. We really need a PA system so our students' voices can be heard. In addition to assemblies for Thanksgiving, Winter Solstice, School Writing Contests and our student music performances, we've celebrated our cultural diversity with Chinese New Year, Cambodian New Year, Black History Month and Cinco de Mayo celebration assemblies. Please help us get our own sound system so we don't have to rely on an unreliable borrowed system anymore! Thanks.
