Most students in the investment club are 10th-12th graders that desire a more financially prosperous life than they currently have. These students are highly motivated to make their lives better. They recognize hard work and education will make a huge difference in their ability to succeed. Our southern California school is extremely divers and the students in the investment club reflect that diversity. I have ESL students or students in the “free lunch” program working/learning with AP students or students from financially secure families. That being said, their differences don’t matter to my students. It is their common goals and interests that bring them together to discuss personal finance, stock market investing, careers in finance and philanthropy. My students work hard to raise investment funds, research investments and make profitable investments to support our school.
