My students are my heroes. Each and every one of them has a different story that has put them at a disadvantage in the eyes of our traditional education system. In my eyes, however, I see brave children who simply try to do the best with what they have each and every day they walk through my door. My students are part of a new elementary program that is continuing to grow rapidly. All of our students are referred to us from other school districts, making us a specialty school. While we face many challenges, our students DO have the desire to read and express themselves through writing. They have already felt the satisfaction of being successful, and they are primed for more.
