My students are trying to start the school's very first Comic Book Club. My students love to read and are deeply passionate about graphic novels. Graphic novels allow readers from varying reading proficiency levels to access the same materials and themes. The power of the graphic novel is the incredible access it offers students to themes and stories in brilliantly colored worlds. This graphic novel has been selected by students as the first read of their comic book club. My students are keen to explore the coming of age tale as they too are coming to terms with the responsibilities and freedoms of growing up.
