Our school is a publicly funded charter embracing a philosophy of structuring our student's learning within community-based, interdisciplinary projects conducted as collaborations between different subject areas. Our students are admitted through a lottery to create a population representing the diverse county that we are part of; our classroom includes learners of all levels and talents. Operating in our project-based environment, this diverse population has access to a great deal of personalization, collaboration, community interactions and hands on work as our students support each other'™s learning during the course of their group projects. With authentic opportunities to take on different roles during these projects, my students are able to learn in a personalized, hands-on, real-world setting.
