This class set of books will provide my students a relatable while they voyage to learn English. They will read about Josef, Isabel, and Mahmoud, three refugees from different countries and times periods, and their struggle to overcome adversity. With these books, my students will find warmth and solace in stories which they will relate to in their world; stories that transcend. These three stories will inspire them to read English as they assimilate to American culture yet remain open to the plights of others just like them. They will grow to consider those who come next while remembering those who helped them get where they are.
