I have been with this school since late fall of 2019. The idea was to start a music program for our middle school students. The students were very excited to explore the world of music as we did through music appreciation and music history. Because our program was starting up, we were in the works of trying to obtain instruments and other materials. Unfortunately as we all know, the pandemic happened. This put a hold on our plans. Luckily, I have a background with music engineering and technology and think this is the perfect time to share this field of music with the students. These midi keyboards I have requested will not only serve as instruments, but will also allow my students to explore and create with endless possibilities. These midi keyboards are an excellent way to introduce my students to the keyboard layout. This layout can translate to piano, xylophone, marimba, and many other keyboard instruments. With these keyboards, my students will be able to create and compose music using online software and online instruments. This will give my student a break from the usual typing keyboard and mouse and bring excitement, inspiration, and creativity to the virtual classroom!
