I teach at Spring Woods High School in Houston, TX. Our school is a Title I school with 76% Hispanic students and over 75% free and reduced lunch. Many students work part-time or full-time along with attending school every day. After they leave school at 3:00 PM, many go to work at 4:00 PM and work until closing time. Only 14% of students that graduate from Spring Woods High School currently go to and finish college. The average ACT score is currently 18. Despite the many challenges they face, my students come to school every day with an appetite for success and for learning. Help me give my students the opportunities they need to succeed!
