This novel will make a huge difference because it will give my students a vital experience with a work of literature that has shaped our culture's thinking in regards to creative responsibility and progress. In addition, the work will be part of our study of the Romantic movement and its relationship with our current social justice and literary movement. Shelley's work will also be looked at as a proto-feminist novel along with her mother's work in A Vindication of the Rights of Women. My aim is always to give my students an experience that connects where we are at with the past.
