The fantastic and hard-working students in our class come from a variety of diverse backgrounds. Over 80% of my students are identified as English Language Learners, which means that they enter our classroom with varying degrees of fluency in the English language. One of my favorite quotes comes from Nelson Mandela, "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." I firmly believe that supplying children with the highest quality education possible is one of the most meaningful ways of changing lives. We are designated as a Title I school - which means that the majority of our students hail from a low socioeconomic background. It is my intent and my goal as an educator to ensure that my students receive the same access to opportunities, materials, and education as their peers.
