Through a series of shared reading experiences and follow up conversations, I hope to build a strong sense of inclusion and value for every person in our world. I have carefully selected the books in the list to help facilitate conversations to build self esteem, awareness of others, and love and acceptance for all people. I am a white woman of privilege. I want to offer all of my students perspective on our world that is not my own. The authors and stories I have selected will help me step out of my own skin and help my students build understanding of very complex issues. This unit of study will help us all grow.
