In order for my students to work effectively with interactive notebooks or Google documents, they need to have access to a reliable printer. Templates and documents are created on computers and then printed. In order for students to print their work, the printer has to have ink. Although the school provides a copy machine for teachers and students to use, we have 1600 students and two copy machines. It's much more effective for students to use an in-class printer so that it is available when needed. Schools do not provide ink for in-class printers even though students would use the in-class printer more than the school-wide printer (if ever used at all). With ink cartridges available for the classroom printer, students will be able to print off any interactive notebook templates or Google classroom assignments as they are completed.
