I have the wonderful opportunity of working in the library, with kiddos from kindergarten all the way through 6th grade. We have so many books, but quite a few of our books have been through wear and tear over the years, and cannot be checked out anymore. These books could be easily fixed with a book binding machine, instead of being replaced. The ability to repair books is crucial in a time where students are just getting the chance to go back to school. Many schools, including my own, have not had the opportunity to purchase new books in quite some time. Because of this, the copies we do have are very important. My most popular books, those most frequently checked out, are the ones in dire need of repair. My kids want to read, and I hate having to tell them a book is in repair indefinitely!
