We all strive to shape the minds of our students, to illuminate the myriad of paths they can take to happiness and a successful future. As a new teacher in a Title 1 school, I also endeavor to spark their creativity. In my fifth grade classroom, the majority of my students hail from an impoverished background. These students have not had many chances to show their intelligence, to truly shine! As their reading teacher, I pursue not only their academic success, but their hearts. To engender a love of reading in a child opens doors and imbues them with a feeling of accomplishment. A brighter tomorrow lies in our hands today. Help us light the embers of a fire that will shine brightly tomorrow!
