My Students: Students who are enthusiastically participating in the learning process, and having fun. Visual art engages kids. Engagement can also impact students to boost academic growth and improve discipline, These students come from low socioeconomic conditions, and they have very little exposure the arts in their homes. Many of them come from one parent families. Most of them may never have the opportunity to take art lessons. Visual art develops children's self esteem. It improves their chances of success academically, as well as improving their mental and emotional development. These children don't have the benefits of children that were born to affluence. They are already disadvantaged. Many are exposed to gangs and a criminal lifestyle at an early age. They need every opportunity they can get to improve
