We use the bulletin board to showcase a food of the month. The students select foods that we have growing in the garden to showcase. One of our favorite recent activities was a \"Garden Detectives\" project, where students researched the insects they found, like ladybugs, caterpillars, and pollinators, and are currently creating informational cards to display. The compost bin has become an essential hands-on learning tool as well. Students think it's cool and gross! We've gone from observation to scientific investigation.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the bulletin board and compost bin, they were immediately excited. They were mostly taken back by the generosity of your donation. We plan to integrate more data collection and observation charts to deepen their scientific understanding. Thanks to these new materials, our garden has become an outdoor classroom filled with curiosity, exploration, and authentic learning.","fullyFundedDate":1757554451357,"projectUrl":"project/growing-green-thinkers-learning-in-our/9369679/","projectTitle":"Growing Green Thinkers: Learning in Our School Garden","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. McGibboney","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7291228_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1748291302092","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/sarah-mcgibboney"},{"teacherId":7291228,"projectId":9369493,"letterContent":"My students and I have been using the new soprano recorders every day as part of our fourth-grade music curriculum, and they have completely transformed our lessons. One of the most meaningful moments so far has been introducing our Recorder Karate program. With their own instruments, students can practice independently, track their progress, and earn \"belts\" as they master songs. The room is filled with excitement and determination as students help one another, rehearse tricky fingerings, and celebrate each achievement. Having a class set of instruments has also allowed me to teach small-group technique lessons, offer more individualized support, and give students the chance to explore music making with confidence.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the recorders, they were absolutely thrilled—many of them gasped, cheered, or asked if they could start playing right away. For some, it was the first time they had ever owned an instrument, and the pride they felt was unmistakable. As we move forward, our next steps include preparing for performance assessments, composing simple melodies, and working toward earning higher Recorder Karate belts. Students are beginning to read music more fluently, gain better breath control, and understand musical structure through hands-on application. Thanks to these recorders, they are on an exciting musical journey, and we can't wait to share their progress.","fullyFundedDate":1752586465672,"projectUrl":"project/high-hopes-for-high-notes/9369493/","projectTitle":"High Hopes for High Notes!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. McGibboney","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7291228_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1748291302092","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/sarah-mcgibboney"},{"teacherId":1540184,"projectId":5405243,"letterContent":"The donation of Samsung tablets transformed my classroom by providing equal access to learning, boosting confidence, inspiring creativity, and fostering collaboration.
