My students attend an urban public school system in the state of Illinois. They are 5 years old and are in kindergarten. My students are participants of a two-way dual language program. This means that about 70% of students come from Spanish speaking homes, while 30% of students do not come from Spanish speaking homes. My students receive 80% of their instruction in Spanish and 20% in English. Overall, they are full of energy and enthusiasm for learning.
