A music ensemble is broken up into soprano, alto, tenor, and bass instruments. An ensemble with too many flutes, clarinets, or trumpets will sound top heavy and an ensemble with no bass instruments will sound like it has no depth. We currently have almost no low pitched instruments in our band program and by adding this baritone horn we will start down the road of having a more balanced music ensemble. We will have two separate bands this year and by also buying an extra mouth piece we will be able to have two students benefit from this instrument. This instrument will be useful to students for many years to come.
