This class serves as a bridge for students who need extra support and are working on developing the skills to be successful in general education classes. Many of my students have received a lapse in math instruction due to circumstanses out of their control and the classroom team is working hard to get them back on track. Many of the students are intimidated by higher level math and have felt that they can't succeed at the next level. The class has two levels: pre-algebra and algebra 1. In efforts to expose students to more complex math concepts and graphing, these calculators will help them visualize their work. Although Desmos is a useful tool, not all students have smart phones and I want to grant access to all students.
