The carpet I have chosen for my classroom will fit 30 students. First grade spends a lot of time in large groups learning. They all need a place to sit. My classroom also has flexible seating which means some students can choose to sit using a lap desk. They will need a large carpet to sit on. First grade students also spend time reading and having a large place to sit or lay in read is optimal for their learning. First grade also uses games to learn and being able to use the carpet to spread out and play games is a fun way to learn. Its also great for when we are using our Smart board for lessons. A large carpet is an important part of an early childhood classroom.
