My students are 23 second graders in California. 100% of them are Latino. 98% of the students in the school qualify for free and reduced lunches. They are bright, eager, and enthusiastic to learn. They love to read, and have a natural curiosity to all that is around them. They attend a high achieving charter school. The students learn in a blended environment (we have computers in the classroom that help us learn!). Every day, we have guided reading with our students and they have reading workstations. The students have big goals in reading, writing, and math. The students themselves track their own goals. With more resources and more support, these students can reach their goals and beyond. College for certain!
