My classroom is full of curious, energetic first graders. I love feeding their curiosity and tapping into their imagination when teaching. I like to provided flexible seating because it allows our scholars to find places that work best for their learning. We are a class that loves to sing and dance and so music can always be found in our classroom and their busy bodies can be found engaging in content all throughout our room. I am blessed to have a full upright piano and ukulele in the classroom. We sing songs as a group and when they are working quietly, they are rewarded with impromptu concerts for background music. 1st grade is such a magical year because their growth is monumental this year. They blossom as readers, sharpen their skills as writers and engage in rich mathematical conversations to deepen their prior knowledge. Please join me in helping shape the futures of these fabulous first graders!
