Hello, I am a first-year teacher at South East High School. I am excited to be teaching chemistry and be apart of the Health Science and Environment Small School. It is my goal to encourage students especially students of color to become invested in the STEM field and be their self-confidence. South Gate has a predominately Latinx community and our school reflects that with a 95% Latinx student body. Most of the students live within South Gate and are proud of where they come from. Our small school's, a school within the main school, mission includes getting students to make real connections to public health and environmental science within their community, is located in an urban neighbourhood.
