Funded Sep 18, 2024I wish you could have seen the kids' faces when they first saw the Hispanic Heritage door banner. It was the subject of much excitement and admiration throughout the school. I received many compliments on how much character it added to the hallway.
Inside the classroom, students were greeted by the colorful national flags hanging from the ceiling. Even now, when they enter the classroom, they point to a flag as they call out their native country with pride. They are quick to find the United States flag as well. I love that they see a connection to their heritage and our school, which shows their identity isn't one or the other but a beautiful blend of both cultures.
These budding authors have also utilized many posters and charts you so graciously supplied. Students go to the posters to find new synonyms to enhance their writing. They refer to the charts to help better organize their writing.
Your generosity will continue to support young students for several years to come.”

Funded Jul 4, 2024I was as excited as a 5-year-old on Christmas morning when my package arrived! The box was full of great resources I will use to teach multilingual learners from various grade levels this year and for years to come.
There were books with engaging lesson plans for students on different proficiency levels, but best of all, there were books that my students could read in their native language and learn to read in English. Students especially enjoyed the books with comic-book-style illustrations, and the younger students enjoyed using the interactive book that they could touch and hear words, songs, and stories in English and Spanish.
Your generosity has impacted approximately 60 students this year and will continue to benefit students in the future.
Thank you.”

Aspiring Authors Need Supplies
Funded Nov 11, 2022Thank you so much for your donations to this project. Writing is an important skill. Even though much writing is done with technology today, children still need to learn to write with pencil and paper. This act helps develop fine muscles and helps strengthen the connection between letters and sounds. Students can't write without the proper supplies. You provide my students in kindergarten through fifth grade with pencils, paper, a workbook with letters to trace for the younger students, and Crayola twistables to make writing fun. You helped inspire a new generation of young authors with your generosity.”

Funded Mar 12, 2024I can't thank you enough for your generosity. My students were so excited to receive the games you provided. They were able to work together to learn valuable language skills like asking and answering questions, reading and following written directions, and categorizing words. Most importantly, these games allowed them to work together, fostering a sense of sharing and teamwork that will last for years to come. They learned the importance of taking turns and showing good sportsmanship whether they won or lost a game.
Thank you for helping make learning fun and memorable.”

Reading Under the Umbrellas
Funded Aug 8, 2022My students are enjoying the writing supplies they received for this project. It has been wonderful to have fresh pencils with intact erasers to use when they write. Younger students have also enjoyed using the writing paper with a space for illustrating.
The special grid-like paper has been a wonderful tool to help younger students form letters correctly and write legibly. The Crayola twistables were a big hit! They can illustrate their writing without the need for constantly sharpening colored pencils.
Thank you so much, for your generosity,”

Funded Sep 14, 2022Thank you so much for your generous donation to my project. The students were super excited to see their colorful new stools. They use them to sit around the table in small groups, but these seats are also very easy for students to move around the room when they work with partners. Sometimes I even use the colors of the seats to help divide them into pairs to work on projects together.
The colorful and flexible seating option goes a long way to brighten up our classroom and make it a cheery place to learn together. My students and I really appreciate this gift to our classroom.”

Let's Get Organized!
Funded Aug 16, 2022My students love their new flexible seating arrangements! The colorful stools sure brighten up our classroom. The compact stools allow me to fit up to 8 students at my kidney-shaped table which makes it easier to see what they're working on and easier to help students who are struggling. We also use desks sometimes and these stools are a great way for students to quickly move around the room as they break off into groups or pairs. I also find them very handy when I want to pull up a chair beside a student who needs extra guidance.
Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity. You have made our classroom more accessible and inviting.”

Funded Mar 23, 2022My students are learning English as a second language. Reading and spelling English words can be tricky. Secret Stories uses a story format and memorable picture cues to remind students which letters make certain sounds. When students are reading and come to a word they don't know, they find the letter or letter combination in the pictures on the wall. This large wall chart makes it easy for all the students to see the picture clues at the same time. I also have small letter cards that I give students who are struggling to remember how to write a word. You should see their eyes light up when that "A-HA" moment happens and they connect the letter symbols to the sounds in a word. Your donation has made this learning opportunity possible for my students, and I cannot thank you enough.”

Learning is Rewarding with Incentives!
Funded Nov 16, 2021Thank you so much for supporting my project. The students were very excited when I told them I had prizes for them if they did their best on the test. This test was long. Some students took almost two hours on the writing portion, which was amazing that they had that much stamina.
When all parts of testing were over, the students were quick to ask if it was time to choose a treasure. I had more than enough to allow each child to choose two prizes for their effort. These little trinkets, they call them fidgets, are all the rage. To say the kids were over the moon would be an understatement.
Thank you so much for bringing them this joy. Yes, hard work is its own reward, but it's human nature to get excited over tangible rewards sometimes too, especially when we give our all. I believe your donations helped my students truly give their all.”
