In my Integrated Kindergarten classroom I teach children with and without disabilities as they play, learn, and grow together. My students come from diverse cultures, backgrounds, and experiences, and many are English Language Learners. The children with disabilities thrive in an environment where they are academically and socially challenged, while receiving the supports they need to be successful and develop new skills. The children without disabilities gain leadership skills and cultivate empathy, while being challenged to develop their academic and social skills. Every child in my classroom is given the support they need to be successful and the challenge they need to grow and develop new skills.
