In Hawaiʻi, a flower garland (lei) is often given to show the spirit of aloha. A lei is often given away for special occasions, used when dancing hula, and planted to adore the flower. Students will be able to supply their own lei making material with flowers in campus. Students will also create different colors and patterns of the famous plumeria flower. My students also perform hula on/off campus, and they are always in search for flowers to make their lei. We are hoping to graft different plumeria flowers, and later plant them around campus. Planting them around campus will result in 2 things, 1) supplies for lei making activities, 2) campus beautification.
