My students are 4th, 5th and 6th graders. They are eager to learn through the use of technology. When my students have access to the classroom tablet they are able to access many applications that help to improve their phonics skills, fluency and comprehension. They love technology and are skilled at using it. Our elementary school is made up of a diverse group of students, both in heritage and ability. Because we are a charter school, we have the unique opportunity to design our classrooms, schedules, and curriculum around our specific group of students' needs. Given this flexibility, we are able to put a greater emphasis on language arts than typical schools. The students at our school are great leaders, excellent collaborators, and are enthusiastic about challenging learning experiences.
